Camelia
In high school I had to read a lot of books in Dutch, German, English and French. One of my favorite French books was 'La dame aux camelias' from Alexandre Dumas jr. It was first published in 1848. A few years later Verdi based his opera 'La Traviata' (1853) on Dumas' romantic novel.
I don't like opera, but I'd love to read the novel again!
