Angry mama
Between the fallen leaves I scooped out of our pond, Mrs. Salamander was hiding with her young. I first spotted one young salamander on the tiles. It looked like a leech, but then I saw a little leg. So I rushed into the kitchen, grabbed a bowl and took some water out of the pond to rescue the salamander baby. And then I saw another, and another one.
Luckily I found the stressed mum too, it was hard to get her in the bowl. By the look of her eyes I can tell she wasn't too thrilled about my photo shoot. I released them again in the pond. Let's hope they're not traumatized.
