Beantown

Back in the colonial days Boston was known for his beans and molasses. Beans were easy to grow and to to prepare and molasses from the West Indies was needed to produce rum. Cook beans and molasses together and you get recipe for Boston Baked Beans.

In 1919 there was the Great Molasses Flood when a large molasses storage tank burst, killing 21 and injuring 150.
