Millefiori
Last week I went to a mosaic workshop with a few colleagues. I thought mosaic was about breaking tiles with a hammer and then glueing the pieces on a piece of something. But there we were, cutting tiles and using tile nippers to shape the pieces. It's actually rather difficult, and a bit painful (palm of my hand hurts).
But I really love the millefiori you can add to your mosaic. The glass canes look like candy. Slicing the cane reveals a wonderful flower pattern.
